This unique hike combines the beauty of nature with a great
opportunity to observe the wonderful flora and fauna. During our hike through
the Tenorio Volcano National Park, we pass by the Laguna del Río Celeste and
walk along two crystalline streams that join to form the Río Celeste. Here, the
clear water mysteriously changes to a beautiful bright light blue color (hence the
name “Light-Blue-River”). Walking through jungle trails we visit an area where
volcanic smoke is expelled at high temperatures from the ground at the bottom of
the river,
creating bubbles of sulfur. The impressive colorful waterfall of Río Celeste
offers an incredible sight. At the end of the walk.
